About us
Push Button 4 IT was started in March 2006 by business partners Shem Allanson and Kevin Deakes. Both are IT professionals with nearly 40 years of experience in the industry between them. Shem went to school in the Isle of Man. Her family originally emigrated here from Yorkshire. Kevin is also from Yorkshire. He fell in love with the island at an early age following several family holidays, and vowed to return here. Both are now resident in the Isle of Man.
We are a customer focused business. We are not sales people and both dislike a pushy sales approach to business. We want our customers to feel they can telephone us with questions or concerns at any time. In short, we want to give the kind of service that we would like to receive ourselves. Having both been in business for many years we know how much people value the honest, direct approach. Personally I would rather not sell or produce something if I know the customer won't benefit from it.

Shem's background and experience
- Teaching based degree ('human nutrition and dietetics')
- State registered dietitian ('medical teaching')
- NHS Manager and IT project leader (NHS)
- IT and data Manager (NHS)
- Became a qualified IT Trainer and joined the Institute of IT Training
- TAP certified by The Institute of IT Training
- Started own company 'Push Button Computer Training', providing computer training and IT services to a wide range of clients including Bunzl Plastics, Moss Plastics, Nortec Training Agency, The Oxford Radcliffe Hospital Trust, numerous schools and colleges and even the odd film star!
- Company evolved to become 'Push Button Computer Services', providing training, hardware and software installation and support.
- Started Push Button 4 IT, March 2006
Shem's interests include rock music!, logic problems, gardening, drawing, running and swimming.
Kevin's background and experience
- Originally trained as an Astrophysicist
- Joined the Sheffield Astronomical Society and rose the ranks to become Vice President
- Took his interest in computing further and became a programmer
- Control Data Institute certification in Data Processing
- Computer systems analyst
- IT Manager
- Started own software company 'Iodata' providing services to a wide range of clients including, Halifax plc, Focus Do It All, Airtours and GEC.
- Services expanded to include business analysis, project management, program development and technical support
- Now a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and has assisted NASA in pinpointing the exact position of Titan, one of Saturn's moons!
- Microsoft certification in Dot Net programming
- Started Push Button 4 IT, March 2006
Kevin's interests include astronomy (not surprisingly!), travel, films, music, and running.
