Software development

The production of new software has several distinct phases. These are:

  • Analysis of requirements
  • Technical and user specifications
  • Programming
  • Testing
  • Operational manuals
  • System installation
  • Ongoing support

We can look at the systems you already have in place and make recommendations to help you meet your business objectives. If you can't find the software you need, we can design a program suite to meet your exact requirements or one that will integrate with suitable existing packages. The final package can be developed to run on the web, on your desktop or across a small network, whichever is the most appropriate. We can also enable transfer of information between otherwise incompatible systems, such as Windows and UNIX.

We will collaborate with you every step of the way. To us, the ongoing support is just as important as the initial development. We consider it a priority to deliver on time and within budget.

We have a wealth of experience in developing all types of systems including:

  • Financial
    • Accounting
    • Banking
    • Order processing
    • Trading
    • Agency commission
  • Stock control
    • Warehousing
    • Manufacturing
  • Customer contact management

  • VB.Net
  • Visual Basic
  • VBScript
  • VBA
  • MS SQL Server
  • MS Access
  • Crystal Reports

Do you have unusual requirements? Ask and we can probably do it!

opening quote Perhaps one of the most unusual requests I have ever had, was to broadcast images of the Venus transit, over the Internet from a marquee in a Sheffield city centre park! We were only provided with a 240V power supply to start with. After several months and many man hours later we had come up with a working solution. A small network was constructed to receive feeds from several cameras which were monitoring the sky and the park. Custom written software allowed distribution of selected images in real time to our website and the TV monitors. As the six hour event unfolded, our web pages were accessed over 4.5 million times from around the world. At the same time the images were shown on large TV screens to over 5000 visitors. We were not aware at the time, but we had the most extensive coverage of the Venus transit in the world. And, most importantly, the whole event ran like clockwork. closing quote
